We have provided taxonomic and molecular diagnoses based on morphological and genetic data as well as historic literature for the identification, host preferences, and global distribution of Stomphastis thraustica (Lepidoptera: Gracillariidae), an approved biological control agent of Jatropha gossypiifolia in Australia.
